Pharmacology
Albendazole is a benzimidazole derivative, which can be rapidly metabolized in the body to sulfoxide, sulfone alcohol and 2-aminosulfone alcohol. It selectively and irreversibly inhibits the polymerization of the cytoplasmic microtubule system of the parasite's intestinal wall cells for intestinal nematodes, which can block the uptake and absorption of a variety of nutrients and glucose, leading to the exhaustion of endogenous glycogen in the insects, and inhibit fumarate reductase The system prevents the production of adenosine triphosphate and hinders the survival and reproduction of the worm. Similar to mebendazole, this product can also cause degeneration of the cytoplasmic microtubules of the intestinal cells of the worm, and bind to its tubulin, causing blockage of intracellular transport, causing accumulation of Golgi endocrine granules, cytoplasmic gradual dissolution, and complete degeneration of absorption cells. Causes the death of the worm. 20% Albendazole granule can completely kill hookworm eggs and whipworm eggs and partly kill roundworm eggs. In addition to killing and repelling various nematodes that are parasitic in animals, it also has obvious killing and repelling effects on tapeworms and cysticercus.
Toxicology
Toxicological tests show that this product has low toxicity and is safe. The oral LD50 for mice is greater than 800mg/kg, and the maximum tolerable dose for dogs is over 400mg/kg. This drug has no effect on the reproductive function of male mice, and has no teratogenic effect on female mice. Fetal absorption may occur when a larger dose [30 mg/(㎏·day)] is applied to female rats and female rabbits. And skeletal deformities.
Usage and Dosage
Based on albendazole. Oral administration: once, 25 ~ 50mg / kg body weight. Or follow the doctor's advice.
Adverse Reactions
(1) when dogs were given 50 mg / kg twice a day, they would gradually develop anorexia
(2)The use of albendazole in early pregnancy can be accompanied by teratogenicity and embryotoxicity.
