Florfenicol
Florfenicol is white or off-white crystalline powder, odorless, very slightly soluble in water and chloroform, slightly soluble in glacial acetic acid, soluble in methanol and ethanol.
Pharmacological action
Florfenicol is an antibiotic drug, which produces a broad-spectrum bacteriostatic effect by inhibiting the activity of peptidyltransferase, and has a broad antibacterial spectrum, including various Gram-positive and negative bacteria and mycoplasma. Sensitive bacteria include bovine and porcine Haemophilus, Shigella dysenteriae, Salmonella, Escherichia coli, Pneumococcus, Influenza bacillus, Streptococcus, Staphylococcus aureus, Chlamydia, Leptospira, Rickettsia, etc. This product can diffuse into bacterial cells through lipid solubility, mainly acts on the 50s subunit of bacterial 70s ribosome, inhibits transpeptidase, hinders the growth of peptidase, inhibits the formation of peptide chains, thereby preventing protein synthesis, achieving Antibacterial purpose. This product is rapidly absorbed by oral administration, widely distributed, has a long half-life, high blood drug concentration, and long blood drug maintenance time.
Scope of application
1. Livestock: used for the prevention and treatment of swine asthma, infectious pleuropneumonia, atrophic rhinitis, swine pneumonia, streptococcosis, etc. caused by dyspnea, elevated body temperature, cough, choking, decreased feed intake, It has a very strong curative effect on weight loss, etc. It is effective against Escherichia coli and other causes of yellow and white dysentery, enteritis, blood dysentery, and edema in piglets.
2. Poultry: It is used to prevent and treat cholera caused by Escherichia coli, Salmonella, Pasteurella, etc., chicken pullorum, diarrhea, intractable diarrhea, yellow-white-green stool, watery stool, diarrhea, intestinal mucosal spots or Diffuse hemorrhage, omphalitis, pericardium, liver, bacteria, mycoplasma, etc. caused by chronic respiratory disease, infectious rhinitis air sac opacity, cough, tracheal rattle, dyspnea, etc.
3. Ducks: It has obvious effect on infectious serositis, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa of ducks.
4. Fish: To treat bacterial fish disease, orally.
Dosage: 10-15mg/kg (relative to fish body weight), twice a day (this drug is very stimulating, so it should be divided into two doses), usually a course of treatment for three days. Shrimp and crabs have short intestines, and the dosage is doubled.
