The larvae are adsorbed on the chicken small intestinal mucosa and develop into adult tapeworms after 12-23 days, which circulate and reproduce.

After infection with chicken tapeworm, the clinical manifestations are: loss of appetite, decreased egg production rate, thin stool or mixed with blood, emaciation, fluffy feathers, pale comb, increased drinking water, etc., causing serious economic losses to chicken production.
